Mardi Gras Comes to The Villages

For many, Mardi Gras is a special day that connects them back home to another state somewhere along the Gulf Coast. Some would argue that is it the most special day of the year. People in Louisiana have been celebrating this year’s Carnival season since January 7.

For those not brave enough to make the trek to New Orleans, Villagers will get to join in on the fun on March 1. That’s right, Mardi Gras is coming to The Villages!

The celebration starts at 3 p.m. with a costumed dog walk, followed by live entertainment from groups Sweet&Sassy, Sugar N’ Spice, and others. Jammin’ Jambalaya will provide the sounds of New Orleans from 4-9 p.m. Food vendors will also be on hand. More details about the event can be found here.
