As children we learn valuable life lessons. One of these lessons is there are some people in this world that don’t want to be around you. The reasons they don’t should not matter and it’s best to just move on and hang out with people that actually want to be around you. Most people learn this lesson and live their lives accordingly. But there are some who either never learn this or can’t accept the fact that some people aren’t going to like you. Unfortunately, a group of these people live in our community.
A memorable scene from the movie Mean Girls illustrates this point. One of the “cool” girls had enough of another girl constantly trying to hang out with the group, and she finally yells, “You can’t sit with us!” This scene happened in real life earlier this week, when a group of adults tried their hardest to force their way into a private political club. The whole situation was childish and could have been avoided had these people learned the valuable childhood lesson described at the beginning of this editorial. It would be somewhat excusable if this was the first group they tried to pull this stunt on, but they have tried to run this play on other groups, with the same lack of success. And no doubt they will keep trying to do it until everyone wisens up and they learn that people just plain don’t want them around anymore.
It’s not just that they weren’t welcomed at the club, it’s that they tried to insert themselves in a horrible and immature fashion. An email was sent to the members of this bank of misfits detailing their plan. In the interest of wanting to prevent this from happening to other clubs, I am including the message so leaders of other groups know who these adult children are. This could have been avoided if they just learned their lesson as children. They aren’t interested in positively contributing to clubs, they only want to take over the clubs and divide them. Typical Democrat tactics.
Another grown child that surprisingly learned his lesson this week is our favorite editorial target, the biggest wannabe politico in Sumter County. He was so confident he was going to become the next District 1 Commissioner that he said to hell with his CDD 5 seat. After his proper butt-kicking by Roberta Ulrich, he instinctively decided he needed to have his political power back, and thought he was a shoo-in for his old job at CDD 5. Thank God (and Gary Kadow) the rest of the board did not feel the same way. Like Kid Rock’s character in Joe Dirt said, “Nobody wants you around period.” It turns out CDD 5 had enough of the drama Panos brought to the table. I hope the rest of the clubs start to feel the same way when it comes to Rivernider & Company.
