Governor DeSantis announced today he has approved $20 million in funding for IT and cybersecurity training opportunities. The Florida Center for Cybersecurity at the University of South Florida will be the recipient of these funds. This is in addition to the $3.5 billion Florida has already invested into workforce education and training programs.
Currently there are 22,000 unfilled cybersecurity jobs in Florida. Last school year 143,000 middle and high school students in the state were enrolled in IT and cybersecurity career and technical education programs.
